Hey lovelies!

Hello lovlies,

So June has just ended and we're finally in July! What a better to way to commemorate June than a favourites post! I have plenty of beauty favourites this month, however I've been enjoying things I can't physically show you such as Sims 4 on my Mac and Friends the TV show. Obsessed with 24/7 in the month of June, but no spoilers because we haven't managed to finish all of friends yet, I still can't believe I've got to the age of 21 and never seen an episode! Sims 4 has also been an obsession of mine recently, I even downloaded a love island villa and all the islanders...sad or what haha.

However the other favourites I am loving are...

1. Inside Vogue by Alexandra Shulman Book

The book reflects Alexandra Shulmans diary of British Vogue magazines 100th year and what it entails. This is by far my 2018 summer read. Its witty and insightful, if you like fashion and all the inside scoops (like me) then this is a must read for you. With my heart set on a future career in fashion promotion, all the ins and outs are essential. The book discusses celebrities and designers alike. Set in a diary format through each month with different occasions discussed.

2. Liz Earle Botanical Shampoo & Conditioner

After using a somewhat harsh colour shampoo and conditioner for the past few months my hair is really appreciating the calming effects of the Liz Earle botanics. After using Liz Earle products for years now my amazing nan treated me to this due in the limited edition packaging, and I am in love as per usual with all Liz Earle products. The scent is just heavenly, very fresh and botanical - clean! I love the consistency of both products and how they really feel as though they are cleaning every inch of your hair thoroughly! If you think Liz Earle is just about the Cleanse & Polish (which is also amazing) definitely branch out and check out her other products this summer!

3. Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Priced at £5.99 each, I honestly think these liquid lipsticks are the best on the market! So affordable and so long wearing with amazing colour pay off. There are so many shades in the range to choose from it was so hard to pick just two to buy! The formula is amazing and dries within seconds on the lips however applies with a velvety/satin feel. I can't wait to get my hands onto a red shade. These Liquid lipsticks really do last all day long, wearing throughout the centre of the lips just slightly but after a touch up looks perfect again. Drink and eat and you have no problems what so ever.

4. Carmex

My ultimate essential for summer, I have one in every handbag! Strawberry is my favourite, the way it tingles on the lips feels so good and the SPF is totally needed in the UK heatwave! I put this on before my makeup and it lasts for so long afterwards! Also a perfect base for underneath lipsticks to keep you lips nice and moist (especially for underneath matte lipsticks). I really want to try some of the different flavours as pineapple and mint also sounds very refreshing!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what my June favourites are! Comment below what you're loving this month and how you're dealing with this UK heatwave!

Hey lovelies,

So Valentines Day is just around the corner and if you haven't already got your makeup sorted, you can definitely plan a makeup look around this perfect lip colour!

Whether you are spending your valentines day with family, date night or with your gals then you can still rock this lip shade no matter what the event! Wearable in the day and super seductive for the night, suiting every skin tone. Of course I am talking about Sleek! An affordable beauty brand with quality at the heart. This is the Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick in the Rioja Red shade.

Perfectly red in every way. I received this for Christmas and I've kind of been obsessed with this shade ever since! The formula is creamy yet matte (obviously) but doesn't feel overly drying on the lips. I desperately want to pick up more shades as they are only £3.95 on Feel Unique. The formula lasts a super long time, Ive even managed to eat and drink with only a little smudge but with reapplication looks perfect again.

I just wear this liquid lipstick on its own as I've found a lip liner isn't needed, due to the formula not bleeding out onto my skin - which I've found before with other high end liquid lipsticks!

As you can see the swatch of the lipstick matches the bottle perfectly, so you know what you're getting instantly. It is the 'perfect' beautiful red shade for any special event, and even though I have extremely pale skin it suits me to a T. Every once in a while we all need a bold lip colour to express ourselves and I think I have found mine.

Here is a quick selfie of me from Christmas Day wearing the lovely Matte Me lip! Also very wearable with any eye look from a classic smokey to just simple cat wings to spice things up a little. I wear this lip colour with any outfit, a dressy date night look to a lovely every day me.

The art of I love you book - link here.

I really hope you enjoyed this little pre Valentines Day post, comment below with your favourite red lips or feel free to tweet me as all my social media links are in the sidebar! And of course I hope you have the best Valentines Day thats filled with lots of love, fun and most of all chocolate!

Hey lovelies,

So as we all know Glossier has recently launched in the UK, after being popular in the USA for multiple years. There has been hype all over the place about it so I thought I too would add to the mix of Glossier posts.

I purchased the items before Christmas 2017 and I have been using them ever since, to get a real feel for them and see how they work for my combination and often problematic skin. As the title says 'game changers' I really do believe they are.

The Glossier website was a little daunting to me at first, I had seen some recommendations from fellow bloggers and youtubers and decided to add them to my basket ASAP. I purchased the Phase 2 set that included the Boy Brow, Generation G Lipstick and the Stretch Concealer. This was a set of all the items I fancied trying from them, however saving £8 as not buying them individually - so definitely check out the other sets for bargains.

My Glossier order came super quick and I was over the moon with the packaging and whole appearance of the post, Im a sucker for advertising and pastel pink is such my colour. The box included the standard Glossier bubble wrap, stickers and my items.

Stretch Concealer

As I would call it 'the perfect concealer' for everyday, not too little and definitely not too much. The perfect balance. I layer this over my foundation (Kat Von D lock it) for my under eyes and any spots or redness that may still appear through the foundation, stretch concealer keeps my spots none noticeable. The tub aspect is also a winner in my eyes, I love to feel products and warm them up with my fingers before application - I apply this with my ring finger only. I purchased the lightest shade and it is perfect for my very fair skin. Makeup that lets skin look like skin indeed.

Boy Brow

Of course I had to purchase the internets beloved boy brow, all the hype I just had to. I decided to go for the shade brown to help fill in my eyebrows a little more even after my pomade. On a daily basis I use my ABH Pomade or my Ted Baker eyebrow pencil to fill in my brows then to set them evenly, boy brow does the job like no other. I also want to try the clear shade next time to compare. It saves your eyebrows smudging throughout the day and keeps them safely in place, so no need to worry.

Generation G Lipstick

As it was before Christmas I decided to go for the 'Jam' shade, a beautiful dark plum/red berry which suits every skin tone. I didn't want to pick up my generic my lips but better colour, I must've been feeling daring! This lipstick is very sheer yet matte when applied, yet I find it very moisturising. This lipstick is a good all rounder and perfect for those chilly days when a berry lip and a turtle neck jumper are needed! However the only downside to this lippy is that it really doesn't last very long at all, don't drink or eat wearing it though and you'll be fine!

Swatches of Jam Generation G Lipstick, Stretch Concealer in light and Boy brow in brown.

Overall I am really impressed by Glossier products and if I were to recommend you buy just one product I've mentioned it would have to be the Stretch Concealer, life changing! Please comment below if you've tried any Glossier products that I haven't, I would love to buy more a perhaps do a haul! Or tweet me, all my social media links are in the sidebar.

Hey Lovelies,

My skin has been so up and down as of recently due to the weather and me consuming my own body weight in Christmas chocolate. So because of this I decided to reach for my L'oreal pure clay face masks, I use them as a combination to work in unity together to get my skin back to its peak condition.

Now you've probably seen so many posts around the internet about these face masks but I decided to add a new one into the mix that is a pretty new release. Also if you are currently having trouble with your skin recently like myself then maybe these clay masks can help you out too.

Pure Clay Detox Mask

Kicking this off with my favourite of the 4 in my current collection, the detox mask aka 'the grey one'. This mask is my one true love and I mainly focus using it on my chin and jawline area, also the upper lip. This mask is perfect for detoxing your skin of all the impurities it holds. It is enriched with black charcoal that acts as a magnet to draw out all the impurities.  Did I also mention all the masks smell gorgeous? I apply it to dry/damp ish skin and let it sit for around 10 to 15 minutes its totally up to you - then I remove with a damp muslin cloth. Each and every clay mask feels utterly smooth and professional on the skin, like a spa day right in your own home.

Pure Clay Glow Mask

Unlike the others in the collection the Glow mask contains tiny exfoliating beads that you can feel when applying to areas you would like to brighten. Its beautiful pink colour comes from red algae that is known for its brightening properties, and apricot seeds to gently exfoliate dull and uneven skin. I tend to focus this one under my eyes (but not too close to cause irritation) and around my temples and cheek bones, where I naturally would like to glow and be bright. Again using this the same way and removing with a damp muslin cloth (mine are from Liz Earle).

Pure Clay Purity Mask

The texture of the purifying mask is a lot thinner and much creamier than the rest. I focus this on the areas where my pores may be large and blackhead areas such as my nose and around and my forehead - the T zone. It is enriched with Eucalyptus extract with is known for its purifying properties. My T zone always feel hydrated and smooth after using this product, ready to apply my serums and night time moisturiser.

Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask

Claiming to clear and unclog pores with Marine algae extract. Again this is a thicker texture very similar to the detox mask, I like to focus this on all my problem acne areas, as of lately it has been my chin with a few on my cheeks. This mask always does its very best to calm the spots down, as they definitely appear less red and inflamed after just one use.

Below shows swatches of all 4 of the clay masks I own, from this you can clearly tell what the textures are going to be like and how they vary...

The only one missing from my collection is the pure clay bright mask 'the yellow one' which I also can't wait to try as all 4 have impressed me and my skin so far. Whats not to love about all illuminating properties?

I really hope you have enjoyed this little skincare post and skin update, if you are having problematic skin lately and love some products that help please let me know in the comments as I would love the excuse to by more! All my social media links are in the sidebar so tweet me with recommendations too!

Hello Lovlies,

Having never done a Bath bomb/Lush haul before ever on Abbey Hearts (Which is totally unlike me, bath queen over here) I thought November would be a fitting month. It's the run up to Christmas, its now snowing outside so why not cosy up - put the heating on full blast and run a nice relaxing bath. I have been a lover of all things bath time since forever, it makes it fun & relaxing all at the same time. The bath bombs/fizzers & bubble bars in this haul I have collected since the end of October (so excuse the halloweens items), from a mixture of places. I can't wait to share them with you!

First up are my beloved Lush bits, again from October but who says you can't just get round to using them?! However you may think I'm barking mad but the "Sparkly Pumpkin" bubble bar shown below is still available on the Lush website and leaving soon so be quick! It claims to be "uplifting, protecting and refreshing" all in one. But the true reason I bought into this sparkle bomb is indeed for the crazy amount of glitter - you'll find glitter everywhere after using this, trust me! Sparkly Pumpkin is a bubble bar therefore a little sprinkle under the hot running water is all that is needed to create autumnal heaven in the tub!

Another one of my favourite all time scents from Lush is Snow Fairy which is now available as a jelly bath bomb! Anyone else as excited as me? The snow fairy scent is timeless and gorgeous, with the jelly style bomb making a new twist on the old classic. Now not to be hasty or controversial but I this bath bomb to me is massive! Therefore I would never use all of it on one bath only. Call me old fashioned but I like to be savvy, priced at £4.95 each this will definitely last me at leat 2 - 3 baths, as well as some of the others in this haul. And its pink so whats not to love?

A newbie in my haul is Rocket Science, again from Lush priced at £2.95 each, which in my opinion is decent for the size you receive. The lovely sparkly blue colour is what first attracted me to this particular bomb, and again claiming to be "uplifting and refreshing" on Lush.com. I got this as a present for my mum to try as we both loveeee a good bath. I can't wait to see Rocket Science get fizzy in the bath, and the scents and trails it leaves behind. They're always so much fun!

A brand I haven't tried before but was intrigued to is bomb cosmetics. These 2 caught my eye immediately in the shop (it was a garden centre could you believe) just because of how beautifully christmassy and cute they are! I decided to purchase 2 as the deal was 2 for £6 which is cheaper than 2 bigger bath bombs at Lush. Both smell gorgeous, I picked up Ugly Ducking and Candy Cane Lane.  Priced at £2.99 each. I can't wait to see how they both fizz up and go under the challenge once in the water, because to this day I haven't found any as good as Lush.

Im sorry this was only a tiny haul, but a haul none the less. I also hope you enjoyed it! Maybe it gave you a little inspiration to go shopping (sorry not sorry). But it is the season for giving so why not treat yourself and a pal all at the same time! Please let me know if you would like to see my reaction/thoughts to how they all fizz up in the bath - and always keep an eye on my social media for that good ol reverse boomerang. Comment below if you have any recommendations for me to buy next...Im always on the lookout haha!

Hello lovlies,

Talking all things hair care on Abbey Hearts today, giving you the full low down on my hair care routine, what I use in the shower and my favourite heat styling products that will get you through the summer humidity/frizz.

Most products I will be talking about in this blog post are on the affordable end of the spectrum, apart from 1. If you have any hair product recommendations please don't hesitate to tell me, either in the comments below or through my social media (links to all in sidebar).

First up has to be my beloved shampoo and conditioner, the shampoo I have repurchased more than twice now! Its the Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine Shampoo you can't miss it with the brightest green bottle and the sweetest apple scent. This shampoo feels almost light when I'm using it, not at all harsh and abrasive but natural and cleansing - just what it says on the bottle. And as it says on the tin honestly leaves my hair with a dazzling shine, and the sweet scent lingering for hours. Just to let you in on my hair type, this is a shampoo for normal hair which Im not sure I have but love none the less. As my hair is very long it can often get greasy, I also have ombre/balayage hair which means I have blonde tones running through the mid to the ends therefore the ends can get quite dry but this shampoo and conditioner combo has me sorted.

The conditioner I use is the Mark Hill XL Volume Amplifying Conditioner containing marine collagen, claiming "Collagen fillers for hair! Add strength body and bounce, leaving hair thicker and fuller!". This conditioner appealed to me as I haven't really seen anything similar to it on the hair market as of yet, and I definitely want my hair containing more volume and bounce! who doesn't right! Again lovely and sweet smelling of lemons - if at all a little sickly. I use this on the mid lengths to the ends of my hair as not to add grease to my roots, this leaves my hair feeling instantly smooth, shiny, conditioned, hydrated and most of all silky. You can feel the silkiness straight away!

After I have shampoo'd and conditioned my locks I then move on to styling for the days ahead, before I blow-dry my hair I always make sure to use a heat styling spray to protect it as it really makes a difference. For this I use the TRESemme Protect Heat Defence Styling Spray and I find it one of the best on the market, as I have tried other higher priced brands in the past. TRESemme really does its job here, protecting my locks from UV damage and heat damage from the use of styling tools and hair dryers. Definitely add this product to your routine, again the sweet luxurious smell lingering for hours, my boyfriend agrees!

After I protect my hair I am all ready for blowdrying, using my trusty babyliss hairdryer - so old but it does the job haha. Then on to my favourite part of my whole hair care routine straightening! I would definitely say I straighten my hair more than I wave/curl although I do love my hair curled, straightening is just a whole lot easier day to day. If someone could also direct me to the best tutorial to curl hair with straighteners then please send it my way!

To straighten I use my beloved Copper Luxe V Gold GHD Styler I just can't get enough of these! I received them for Christmas and I have honestly been using them every week since, they come everywhere with me including on holiday. These honestly changed the way I straighten my hair as they are so much better, so revolutionary. They include smart technology meaning you switch them on and go, no need for heat settings as the ceramic plates tender to your specific hair needs. You and me would be different, how cleaver is that. Also how gorgeous are they?! My mum did good with this gorgeous copper colour! So instagrammable!  Also so lightweight and luxurious.

Please let me know your thoughts with this post! And send me your hair essentials, always looking for new recommendations to buy! Don't forget to comment below with content you would like to see here on Abbey Hearts and your feedback, I always love and read it! Hello lovlies,

So as of recently I have been travelling quite a bit, in the uk and abroad. Helping me with this has been my trusty and ever so beautiful Ted Baker wash bag, look at it...just stunning. The perfect size for all my toiletries, although a funny shaped wash bag it can fit a lot in so do not be deceived! Adds a little bit of luxury to daily life.

It is beautiful in every way, the rose gold/coppery toned hardware really adds to the Ted Baker themed branding - looking more into their collections of handbags, pencil cases etc. Ted Baker your branding is on point. The actual design on the wash bag seems to be of diamonds/crystals in a beautiful wash of turquoise and mint shades. Keeping to the gem theme with the added gem accessory on the zip, oh its the little things in life!

The beautiful turquoise and mint shades on this wash bag just scream spring/summer to me, I just cannot get enough of it, and it pictures perfectly. Also if you want a lot of compliments, this is the wash bag for you girl. Also the beautiful pastel pink fabric on the inside of the wash bag, I would estimate this getting a little dirty through wear, tear and use but mine hasn't as of yet.

This beautiful specimen was given to me as a gift a few Christmas ago, but is still available to purchase here. Bare in mind this wash bag also comes with some amazingly scented ted baker beauty/body products. Ted Baker is available at Boots all year round with collections containing beautiful prints and some really lovely products. Adding that touch of luxury to everyday life!

Hope you enjoyed my latest post, don't forget to check out my social media (links in the sidebar) and comment with any thoughts & suggestions. I always love to hear your feedback!

Hello Lovlies,

So today the sun is really shining here in England! Everything is beautiful, and every body is happy, what more could you want! We started the day with a lovely country pub lunch, and we are still absolutely stuffed! I was treated after the trauma of having my ears pierced (lol I know I should have had this done many moons ago, but Im happy with them).  So why not carry on the Summer blog post vibe with a summer nails post!

I am L O V I N G  the candy pinks for summer! Always, and you can't really go wrong with the Revlon Formulas so these 2 colours went straight into my basket at the store.

I added two new shades to my collection today, I could not stop staring at them...just look! These shades are just gorgeous and perfect for those hot summer months (eagerly awaiting them to wear cute summer clothes). I picked up these two Revlon polishes in the shades; Vivacious & Flirt. Also similar to the polish I am wearing, can we just tell I'm obsessed with these colours - the bubblegum polish I'm wearing is by Seventeen.

I am aware that these polishes look similar in many ways, however once swatched and on my nails, they will both look effortlessly unique. Also a cute way to add a different polish thats similar to your ring finger, for a different look perhaps?

When the post is always about that floral background...

Hello Lovlies,

As summer is fast approaching us here in the UK (although you wouldn't think it) we still need to prep our skin ready for the changing weather, the only way I know how...Liz Earle!

I have been using many products in the Liz Earle skincare range for about 7+ years now, and I cannot fault it. As you can tell from me using the range this long I don't like change, and I don't like change especially when you can find nothing that works for you skin apart from Liz Earle. I have acne prone skin and have struggled with this for many years now (I have even tried roaccutane, if you would like a blog post about that then please let me know in the comments). My skin has changed a lot in the past year and is now mildly acne prone, sensitive and combination. Liz Earle tackles all these subjects as they thrive on natural ingredients so perfect! Below shows current products I have in my collection, which continues to grow and grow as I continue to repurchase all of these products. Please note I also love the Liz Earle facial exfoliator, very sensitive - I will soon be repurchasing!

Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer travel size,  Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer 200ml, Super skin concentrate for night travel size, Skin Repair Moisturiser in Normal/Combination 50ml. All links shopable below

The Super Skin concentrate for night is ideal for those nights where your facial exfoliator didn't quite reach your exceptions to relieve you from that dry skin...trust me in the morning after you used this your skin will feel beyond baby soft. As I travel up and down a lot the 30ml travel size Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer is perfect for on the go. It is also ideal for a long haul plane journey's as under 100ml as the air is very drying this will instantly add youth & glow to your complexion.

Skin Repair Moisturiser - Normal/Combination

The moisturisers of all moisturisers, this product saved me in winter! However even in the summer it seems to be working wonders for me, so much I have repurchased it twice! and will continue too. The naturally active ingredients (what Liz Earle is best known for) mean this product has again won many products just like its sister the Hot Cloth Cleanser.
